About River Poet

Welcome to River Poet Search Naiveté. Bergamot and Vetiver was already taken. As was Bayberry Moon. Which is actually fine, because this isn't a blog about essential oils, or about kawaii fruit with super powers.  The goal of this project... unofficially, The R.E.M. Project, is to make pictures out of R.E.M. lyrics. 

You might remember me from my previous inspiration project The Bowie Project, in which I listened to all of David Bowie's albums and then wrote stories about the places I went in my imagination. This is like that, only different.

Only recently have I realized that I have spent my entire sentient life loving R.E.M., yet never said it out loud; not unlike the realization that your longtime friend is your actually your soulmate. With this realization, I'm endeavoring to listen to all of R.E.M.'s albums with the goal of processing the lyrical imagery and converting it into something visual. 

Let me be clear that I neither claim to know what in tarnation Michael Stipe is on about, nor do I declare myself the harbinger of Art with a capital A. I'm just having fun here. And everybody loves R.E.M. right?
